Energy from Biomass

Sustainability Concept

New energy supply is green. Biotechnologies will play an important role in decentralizing energy sources and will be accessible to everyone.

We interviewed people in Germany about their attitude to the common practice of wast separation in households. The interviews revealed that for many it is highly inconvenient to separate biological from residual waste. Most of them also revealed that they had no idea what would happen with the waste after it was taken away.

Due to our research we found out that in some cases bio waste is burned together with the residual waste in order to cool down outdated incineration plants making to process of waste separation an unnecessary and tiresome  practice. Nonetheless over 30 000 Mg can produce 8.3 Mio kWh. However who knows what all these numbers mean?

Therefore we developed a concept of “Energy from Biomass” that decentralizes bio waste disposal and energy production, makes the process understandable and transparent for the user.

The concept consists of series of products:

* bio waste bin

* bio waste bag

* mini-biogas plant

All these products make the handling with the bio waste easy for the households; it changes the image of the bio waste to “bio waste as energy source” and it gives economical advantage for the participating household.
